Proverbs 15:3

Hope's memory verse for school this week is:
"The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch over the wicked and the good."

Pretty sobering when you really think about it. I thank God for His mercy and grace in providing a payment for all the wicked that I do. Finding forgiveness in Jesus death and resurrection is so humbling...and yet there He is ready to forgive again and again and ready to help me to better. Thank you God that you do see everything and in the end of it all You will judge righteously. "The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost." 1 Timothy 1:15

Dialing 911

Well, I got to call 911 again last night. Our neighbor the "Rev" went crazy last night. After we put the kids to bed we heard yelling outside. Desi went to check it out and our next door neighbor Bobby was in front of his house. From what he told us, he heard noises and looked outside to see across the street the Rev breaking through the window of his own apartment. He came out, got in his minivan, drove about 20 yards and crashed into a parked car on the other side of the street. He got out and was just freaking out...yelling all sorts of things that we couldn't understand. At this point, Desi was with Bobby and I was at the door. We heard a woman's voice coming from the Rev's apartment. She was at the window trying to get out. The guys asked if she needed help. She got out and came across the street. Apparently she was an old girlfriend who had not been over for a long time. She said his door was pad locked from the inside and the only way out was the window. She was pretty freaked out and the guys waited with her around the corner while I called the police. They arrived within a few minutes. From what she told the police, she and the Rev were hanging out, talking and everything was just fine, when all of the sudden he went to the window and started banging on it and just freaking out. I guess they both had done some weed and she said he was drinking. The police took him to the hospital (he had cut himself on the glass). Desi and Bobby filled out paperwork and by the time Desi got back in, it was 10pm!

Just pray for the "Rev" that God would heal him and show us how to pray for him and what sort of involvment we should have with him. I think he must be on some sort of medication or somthing. Some days he acts totally normal and nice and other days he acts so strange. He says he is a minister, but we don't know what he does, where he works or really anthing at all about him. Pepper (2 doors down from him) doesn't like him or trust him for anything. To tell you the truth, I am not his biggest fan either and I try to keep my distance.

For those of you who have been long time readers, you'll remember the post titled "What was he thinking?" about how he tried to put a stove and dryer in the trunk of his car!

Life here is rarely dull! Loving it!

Kylander Fun

Sunday after church we headed up to the Kylander's to hang with them for awhile. They had so much snow in front of their house that Josh and Desi thought they could make a sled run. It turned out to be so much fun. The kids all suited up and spent the rest of the afternoon in the front yard.
When the kids got a good push off the top they made it all the way to the street!

6 Months Old...Well, 6 and a half now...

Levi turned 6 months old the day after Christmas. Being that we were on vacation in California, I was not able to take the obligatory teddy bear pic. I just got around to it today...it's taken awhile to recover from the trip! Speaking of the trip...Levi was a champ. He just did so well (during the day...night time was another story all together). All the family got plenty of time with him and he seemed to really enjoy all the activity. Here are a few "six month old now" shots that I love.



As a 6 month old, Levi is now eating solid foods, beginning to drink water from a sippy cup, rolling like a champ, doing push ups, babbling, laughing and putting everything in his mouth. He's still at 2 teeth, but more will show up soon...he's drooling like crazy. I think crawling is coming soon!

The Happiest Place On Earth?

Des & Jan and Jan's parents all pitched in to take our family to Disneyland as a Christmas gift this year. We were all so excited and planned on going the Thursday after Christmas. We got a later start, thinking we'd stay for fireworks and ended up in Anaheim around noon. As we pulled in closer to the parking lots we noticed that Disneyland had sold out. Has anyone ever heard of that??? How crowded does it have to get before they close the gates. Needless to say we were bummed, but didn't want to be there if it was that full anyway. So we had lunch at a very large and busy McDonald's right across the street (no playland). We decided to try again on Tuesday the 2nd. We got there and from the time we paid for parking to the time we entered the magical land it had been over 90 minutes. I think all the adults were thinking things like, "who's idea was this? and Boy, it's crowded and why are we here?" On the other hand, our kids were PUMPED as we entered. We headed straight for the castle and got in line for Peter Pan. An hour later I had gone on Dumbo with Hope and Owen. After that the weather cooled and lines didn't seem as long. We enjoyed It's A Small World (to see it all decked out for Christmas was great), Pirates of the Carribean, The Jungle Boat Cruise, Buzz Lightyear, Tarazan's Tree House, Alice In Wonderland and 2 more times on Small World (short wait). We LOVED the fireworks set to music and the fake snow set to White Christmas was amusing...all these people going crazy over foam falling from lamp posts. I like the real stuff better, but it was a lot warmer which is nice! The Christmas lights were wonderful and we just had the best time. Here are a few of my favorite pics from the day. Tim's Great Party

While we were in the great state of CA, Tim threw us a great party so we could see a great bunch of great friends all at once. It was great to see everyone and Costco pizza is great. Thanks Tim for all your great work to pull off a great party. I hope you are finally feeling great.
After the great Begin group left (sorry you missed out Paul) a few of the great guys were playing with our great new camera and took a few great shots of Aaron in these great glasses. Soon Aaron was taking great pics of other great people with the great glasses and then we all had to do it...so here they are in all their great glory:

Goodbye 2006...Hello 2007!

We have really been enjoying Desi's family this past week. On Friday Desi's Nana Daphne, Uncle Neil and Nelson Grandparents drove up from Escondido to have lunch with us at the Tortilla Factory. We then went down to Old Town Temecula and Daphne treated us to an hour at the children's museum, which we loved. Thanks Nana!

Not Missing It

I'm sitting here at Des's computer relaxing with a cup of tea after spending a good portion of the day in the car. We got money from Desi's parents and grandparents to go to Disneyland. Today was the day and we got off to a late start, thinking we'd stay late and see the fireworks. Well, Disneyland sold out. So, we drove all the way to Anaheim to have McDonald's for lunch. Traffic on the 91 came to a crawl on the way home and traffice on the 15 came to a complete stop on the way there...Yuck. So, for now, the main thing I don't miss about CA and Temecula/Murrieta especially is the surburban traffic. Pointless traffic for no good reason. That's all.

We're having a great time, enjoying Nana from Illinoise, and Uncle Neil from up north. Looking forward to seeing old friends at Tim's party on Saturday.

Denverites: I am bummed we're missing the 2nd blizzard...take pictures! Miss you!
