Sometimes pretty things can come out of the potty!
As most of you have heard, Hope accidently dropped my phone in the potty. Well, it was DEAD, so I made my way to T-mobile and once I saw the pink one, my decision was made! With a 2 yr renewal, it didn't cost much more than the cheapest phone there. So, sometimes pretty things can come out of the potty!

Recent pics...
Emma Bear loves her little brother Levi! She looks so BIG compared to him!
We went to City Park last Sunday to hang with the Kylanders and enjoy dinner and music.
Emma was playing with her good buddy Ezra and we noticed Owen off in the distance lying face down in the grass...he's not asleep...turns out he was not feeling too good (fever).
A few days ago we went on a picnic lunch with Desi's sister Shannon. Owen still didn't feel that good so he laid down with his brother and they looked so cute I had to take a few shots!

ONE MONTH OLD ALREADY!
Levi is one month old already! We can't believe how fast time flies when you are the parents of 4 kids! Ha Ha! Each month we'll take a pic with this teddy bear to show Levi's growth. (We did this with the other kiddos...before we had this digital camera.)
Levi is sleeping better each week (5 hours last night!).
Likes: eating, sleeping, filling diaper, getting a clean diaper and filling it right away, eating, looking at the wall behind the rocking chair and being held.
Dislikes: waiting to eat, getting poked in the eye, bathing with siblings, and full diapers.

July 2006 Newsletter
July 2006
Vol. 1, Issue 6
-Ancient Paths Church –Desi & Rose Starr
–Inner City Urban Missionaries
starrjrfamily@yahoo.com
APC Happenings… Back in June we had Bump (Bridging Urban Missions Projects) out to do Sports Camp and VBS in our neighborhood park. We had a great turnout and met a lot of people from the hood. Following that was the EFCA National Conference in Denver. Desi missed a few days due to Levi’s birth, but made it to the last few days, thanks to Rose’s mom! The conference was encouraging and Desi enjoyed meeting new people and making connections. For the months of July and August we have moved from meeting at Antioch Baptist Church Sunday evenings, to meeting at Curtis Park in the mornings. We BBQ lunch following the time of worship and teaching. It’s been great to be outside and invite people to join us. Pray that we will be able to help lost people in our area come to know and follow Jesus and that the inner city of Denver will be transformed by the love of God lived out through the people of God. Pray for things coming up in August...We are hosting another VBS for 3 days at Carrie Schnur's(a staff member) house in hope's of reaching the families in her neighborhood, Tue-Thur...Aug. 8-10 from 12-3. We're having another gathering event Sat. Aug. 12th at her house as well.
Starr Family Happenings… As many of you know by now, our 4th child was born on June, 26th (which is why this newsletter took so long to get out!). Rose’s water broke at home and 2 hours later Levi arrived! He weighed in at 8lbs.13ozs. 19.75in. He’s growing quickly and we are all getting used to having a baby in the house! Thanks for all your prayers, emails and gifts. We are truly blessed. Owen turns 4 (we can't believe it!) August 11th and will celebrate with a Race Car Party. Rose will start mid September to home-school Hope (1st Grade).

Starr Grandparents
Desi's parents just left after a great visit to see their new grandson. Thanks to Des, the doorknob on our kitchen door got fixed (all who visit are eternally grateful...if you've closed our back door, you know what I mean!), we got a pantry from Lowes and set it up and hung curtains in the basement! Jan brought all sorts of crafts and fun things to do as well as some really cute new shirts for all 4 kiddos. They took Hope and Owen to see the movie Cars, and babysat so Desi and I could get out. We got to go to dinner with friends and see Lady In The Water with my brother and took all three older kiddos to McDonalds for lunch. We took pics to remember the visit and Hope and Owen got silly...good thing their grandparents are silly too! Thanks so much Des and Jan, your help was invaluable...and Levi tells me he's doing much better now that he's met his other grandparents. He had trouble sleeping this morning from 5-7 'cuz he knew you were leaving! Now, we look forward to Desi's sister Shannon coming out to visit!

BATMAN (& WOMAN)
My parents left yesterday for a 3 week vacation. Dad wanted to see us and Levi again before they left, so they brought over KFC for dinner and we all hung out for awhile. Emma found Owen's Batman costume and wanted to put it on. She looked so cute we had to take some pics. Owen wanted to a turn with it once he saw Emma in it...they are so entertaining to watch! That's Owen in the top pic and Emma in the bottom two.

Levi is Really Cute!
Here's a few recent pics...he's really cute! Having a newborn is totally exhausting! I am really goingto try to enjoy each and every thing though, since this is the last newborn! Late the other night when we were up I came up with 2 really great things about newborns...1-they are just so sweet...cute to watch and 2-they get older every day!

We Miss Uncle Brent
Our wonderful friend Brent Larson just moved to Wisconsin to be with his fiancee Lisa. They'll be getting married in November and we are planning on going! The kids are going to miss their "Uncle Brent" and we are too! We took him to Sonic last Tue for his last dinner in Denver. We love you Brent!

Levi's First Bath
Levi turned 2 weeks old last night! To celebrate he finally let his umbilical cord stump fall off! So, it was time for his first bath! The kids all wanted to be in the tub when we dunked him...he lasted about 3 minutes before the crying turned to screaming! We wrapped him in a baby towel, he stopped crying and proceeded to poop in the towel! The joys of parenthood! At least his belly button is really cute.

Photo Scavenger Hunt
We took the kids on a walk last night thinking it would be nice to take advantage of the cool weather since it's leaving us soon. We made up a scavenger hunt list and brought the camera. These are a few of the shots we took. It was so nice to get out in the hood. We said hi to quite a few people sitting on their porches and saw about 10 dogs on our 8 block walk.

Boys
A few pics of the boys...
Handsome, don't ya think?! Levi looks a LOT like his siblings did at this age, go figure!
When Levi is fussy, daddy holds him like this...it works!
Desi was helping the kids tidy up...with so many kiddos in the house we figured bins were a good idea for storage!
Grandpa Paul's first time to hold Levi...Levi looks so small in that lap!
