Emma's First Haircut!

Well, Emma is a little darling as you all know, especially with her pig tails! However, if her hair is down it's just a disaster! She looks like a rag-a-muffin! Maybe you have to be a mother of a little girl, but it's so hard to go through with that first hair cut. Basically we cut off 3 inches of baby hair last night. The cut was so quick we missed a pic of it, but here she is with her wonderfully cute hair. It got quite wavy once all that baby hair wasn't weighing it down!

Brushing those pearly whites!

Emma thought she wanted to sleep in her big girl bed last night, but once I turned the lights down, the tears began to fall! She'll be in the crib 'till we get back from summer vacation in late May. Then she'll have to give up that wonderful crib for her new brother!

Sledding Fun!

Yesterday was President's day and what could be better than sledding in the sun? My parents have this huge back yard with a great little hill. Mom made two runs and we had two disks that worked great!

Emma tried once herself...I shouldn't have started her at the top! She got totally freaked out, and from then on had to sled with Grandma or mom.

Owen went down maybe 3 times by himself and then was done. He liked kicking the snow.

Hope was the pro-sledder! She sled down countless times and had so much fun. Next time, we may need to find a bigger sledding hill! Do we have a future winter olympian in the family?

Thank you Lord for this baby boy!

February 2006 Update

Desi & Rose Starr ~Denver Inner City Urban Missionaries~

February 2006 Update
~Ancient Paths Church~

Hasn’t it been a warm winter?! It finally snowed 2 in. here a few days ago, but it’s been warm and sunny most of the time. With 3 kids we’ll take it though! Ancient Paths Church is going well and we love meeting at Antioch Baptist. Pray that we’ll find a meeting place for Sunday mornings according to God’s plans.

Desi just got back Feb. 1st from a pastor’s conference that John Piper’s ministry put on in Minneapolis. He and Dwayne Dokes went for 3 days and were blessed, humbled, encouraged and strengthened. Rose was just blessed to have Desi back home! Desi enjoys running Sox Place (the drop-in shelter that we used to meet in on Sun. mornings) once a month as well as volunteering on Tuesdays. Desi is starting to mentor Raul, a 21yr old who has just gotten off heroin and is living on the streets with his pregnant girlfriend. Pray for their salvation. Desi, Dwayne, Bruce and Carrie meet Wednesday afternoons for staff meeting and prayer.

Rose had her ultrasound last Thursday and was surprised to find out we’re having a boy! All looks well and Rose is finally feeling good. She’s able to exercise, get out with the kids and have fun! Last month she taught children’s ministry, so she’s looking forward to going to church this month!

Our kids are doing well and thankfully healthy! Hope is halfway done with Kindergarten-very exciting! Owen is in the midst of potty training and Emma is learning how to throw tantrums. Needless to say, the house is full of noise! We are blessed. Thank you for your love, prayer and support- what a vital part you play in this adventure!

Isn't she too old for that?

Hope and Owen were decorating a cardboard box in the basement (location mistake!) with markers and decided that decorating their faces would be a good idea. Owen declined a photograph. Thank you Lord for washable markers!
